Secondary Welcome Message
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website, and we thank you for taking the time to visit. We hope to provide you with some useful information about our school and to give you an insight into the wealth of experience we offer our students over 39 years. Located in Kubani Crescent, Barnawa GRA Kaduna South Local Government, Kaduna State, we create a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment built on positive relationships, developing the whole student- emotionally, socially and academically. We care for and appreciate each of our students as the unique individuals that they are, each with distinct talents, interests and needs, and each with different learning styles. Danbo International College prepares students for a 21st-century world. We provide an appealing and stimulating curriculum that is flexible and tailored to the needs of each student as we strive for high educational outcomes. We use innovative techniques, rich resources, proven instructional strategies and engaging programmes to promote students learning.Our Programmes

Our Curriculum
We have designed our curriculum to meet the needs of all our student, which will stimulate, inspire and raise standard for every student and provide opportunities for rich personal and academic development. Inspiring every student to believe, learn and grow.
Our curriculum provide the students with the skills, knowledge, experience and imaginative understanding for a lifetime of learning and enjoyment, as well as an awareness and respect for moral values and the community.
The curriculum encourage depth of exploration. It is balanced, relevant and differentiated to match the needs, abilities and aspirations of our students. Co-Curricular and Extra-curricular Activities
The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum to meet the academic, social, moral and spiritual needs of the students, and so we offer a wide range of clubs and societies in the college, and students are encouraged to participate in any, depending on their preference and aptitude.
Extra-curricular involvement is a key tool in personal development, and this plays an integral role in the collegiate experience. Students become involved not only for entertainment, social and enjoyment purpose, but most importantly gain and improve skills.
The diversified range of extra-curricular activities complement the school’s academic curriculum and aims to augment the student’s educational experience.
Participating in these out-of-classroom activities broadens the understanding, critical thinking skills, time management, academic and intellectual competence of our students.
Working outside of the classroom with diverse groups of individuals allows students to gain more self-confidence, autonomy and appreciation for other’s difference and similarities.

The Secondary Vision
Danbo International Secondary School aims at imparting quality education through a holistic and academic approach in its pursuit of excellence in all fields. The school ensures the physical, mental and moral growth of the students through training in co-operation, consideration, team-spirit and service, hence enhancing their mental horizon.

Assessment And Reporting
Our teaching and learning reflect our aims to ensure that the students at Danbo International College Kaduna, are at the centre of their learning, and we recognise the importance of making learning irresistible, meaningful and memorable. It is the provision of high-quality learning experiences that lead to a consistently high level of students achievement.
It sets out clear expectations, provides a consistent approach, which is easily monitored and ensures equal opportunity for all our students.
When teaching, we focus on motivating the students and building on their skills, knowledge and understanding of the curriculum. We use a wide range of stimulating and supportive learning environments and creative teaching approaches to motivate and enthuse learners and promote the enjoyment of lifelong learning.
We differentiate our learning and teaching resources and approaches to provide an appropriate pace and challenge in learning for all. We set high, yet achievable targets for student learning,
and closely monitor, assess and track progress. We use a variety of assessment technique, and focus on providing quality feedback to learners, supporting the next steps in learning.
We encourage our learners to self and peer assess with an ongoing focus on improvement
Assessment for learning (AFL) directs our practice.
We gather a range of evidence on what learners make, say, write and do, and this combined with learning conversations, standardised assessment results and professional judgement, support us to provide reliable evidence for reporting on progress and achievement to students and parents.
We regularly engage in moderation activities with a range of colleagues, within the school and externally, to ensure that we are promoting the highest standards in learning.
Periodic tests, homework, regular classwork and end of year exams are conducted to help decide the students level and allows us to see where they need particular help. On-the-spot quiz, oral questioning, higher-order questioning techniques, mind mapping, word puzzle are assessment strategies we employed as part of our formative assessment process.
Homework, classwork, assignments, projects make up 60% of the termly assessment while the end of term examination makes up 40%. The cumulative performance at the end of the three terms of every session will determine whether a student will be promoted to the next class.

Admission Requirement/ Procedures
Danbo International College is a co-educational boarding and day school. We understand just how important it is for parents to choose the right school for their child. The process outlined below is typical but can be adapted to ensure that you and your child are supported every step of the way. We also make provision for transfer students.
All prospective applicants should apply online.
All prospective candidates must take the entrance examination at our various locations.
Application forms should be submitted with the following:
- a copy of the child’s birth certificate
- most recent Academic Report from child’s current school
- a character reference from the child’s current school
